This type of drum is one of my favorites. I found Native American drums for sale on a trip to the southwest several years ago and I was very impressed with their quality. These were the first I had seen which were crafted from a log section, very sturdy and attractive. I purchased one and it has become my favorite drum to play for inspiration. That is why I call them Spirit Drums.

I collect wood from fallen trees or where others have cut trees down. I always use hardwoods (typically walnut, ash, sycamore) as they are durable, beautiful, and produce excellent sound. Rawhide skins are attached with laces cut from the same hide.

The drum is played with a mallet and often times will provide different, interesting tones and overtones when various areas of the skin are played.

Most Spirit Drums are headed with Buffalo or Cow skin, other types of skin may be available. Handle and mallet are provided.

Price: 15" Spirit Drum $175
